    Today SIG announced it has officially started a new company in Denmark: SIG Nordic (covering Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland and Iceland). The addition of Theis Eichel, Director SIG Nordic, to our team will allow SIG to better serve our clients in the Scandinavian market. Already the first projects were started up in collaboration with some very well known Scandinavian companies.

    The number of requests for SIG-TÜViT certificates is steeply increasing. SIG's clients use the TÜViT Trusted Product Maintainability and its algorithms in their quality management processes. They do this in software development projects, outsourcing of maintenance and also in RFP/RFI procedures.

  • SIG started operations in Belgium

    By October 1st, the Software Improvement Group launched its presence on the Belgian market. Mathieu Broens, will expand the Belgian office and SIG's services locally. Mathieu has over 20 years commercial experience in the ICT market. He worked as an account manager, sales manager and country manager for leading players like BMC Software, Pavilion Technologies, EMC, Cisco and Business Objects.

    Spreadsheets are software developed by non-programmers. They are used for accounting, project management, resource planning, and many more business functions. Often, they are initially developed by a single employee for his or her own benefit but then get shared and enhanced and may grow out into full-blown business-critical applications. Unfortunately, spreadsheets are notoriously error prone and problematic to maintain.

  • SIG and CWI selected for Inventor Award 2009

    The Amsterdam Inventor Dinner 2009 will take place on Thursday 18 June 2009 in the presence of Mayor Cohen. SIG and the Centre for Mathematics and Computer Science (Centrum voor Wiskunde and Informatica - CWI) will be competing against other companies and institutions for the Amsterdam Inventor Award at the Inventor Dinner.

    This year the organisation of the Company Elections for North-Holland received 85 applications. The Software Improvement Group is one of the ten nominated companies for the prize for the Best Company of North-Holland. In 2007 SIG was also nominated for this prize and we ended up in the top 5.

  • Tobias Kuipers member of Program Committee of National Architecture Conference

    Tobias Kuipers has joined the program committee for the “Landelijk Architectuur Congres” (LAC) or National Architecture Conference. This is the premier gathering of IT and Enterprise architects in the Netherlands. The conference has been running for over ten years, and last year managed to draw an 800 people crowd. The two days of the conference are packed with keynotes, relevant industry reports, case studies, and the latest innovations from the academic world.

    On the first of October Eric Bouwers, Technical Consultant at the Software Improvement Group, has started as part-time Ph.D. student on the "Quality Software Linguistics" project. This research-project is a collaboration between the Software Engineering Research Group of the TU Delft and the Software Improvement Group.

    PhD students from various universities in The Netherlands will gather between November 22 and 28 in Nunspeet, for the Fall Days on Software Analysis. This is a PhD school organized on a half-yearly basis by the Institute for Programming Research and Algorithmics (IPA).
